Production for young audience for 3 dancers against a setting of mirrors

Rather than playing on the representation of monsters the way we imagine them (scary, strangely shaped…), I preferred the notion of imaginary friends. Invisible creatures so present in the childhood for being a guide, a scape-goat, a confidant and finally a helper for growing and learning.

This type of character was already present within the "BaZooKian" world under the form of “Egyptian mummy”. This was therefore the character which was used again but with the addition of hands on the head and the body, this being inspired from the imaginative friend I had as a child.

​

The contribution of sounds by Etienne Cuppens who inserted the dialogue in the movie “The Thing from an Other World” also gives an off-beat style to the production and a funnier aspect, more linked to the science fiction style. These sounds also open up a new thought: the creatures we are may be considered as monsters but we also may be seen as explorers looking for monsters.
